RESOLVING WORKPLACE CONFLICTS:

 

 

There is no such thing as a conflict free workplace. Conflicts in the workplace are energy sapping, morale destroying and unproductive. The sooner you resolve it, the better it is for the organisation.

 

The first step to resolving workplace conflict is to make sure that everyone involved admits there is a conflict. Most conflicts are egoistical and it keeps simmering in the background.

 

Once it is out in the open the next step would be to make them understand why there is a conflict. Is it a personality conflict or an ideological conflict?

 

The third step ideally, would be to make the concerned employees to agree to resolve the

Conflict. BUT THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

 

As a Manager this is where you earn your keep. You have to affect a compromise and see that both the conflicting parties win.

 

The final step is, where you act as the third umpire, to ensure that no one tries to test the boundaries defined by the compromise,
