Giving Positive Feedback

When a wise man is advised of his errors, he will reflect on and improve his conduct. When his misconduct is pointed out, a foolish man will not only disregard the advice but rather repeat the same error. - Buddha

Giving positive feedback:

A positive feed back for a job well done is an important aspect in managing people.

A delayed feedback loses its potency. Once an exemplary job is done, give your appreciation then and there. A positive feedback becomes doubly effective when it’s given instantly, because it links his/her actions with your appreciation in his/her mind.

A positive feedback is given not only to appreciate a job well done but also to motivate continued performance. Be specific when you appreciate. Being specific lets the recipient know that her/his good work is being noticed and also motivates him to look for other areas to excel.

Don’t go overboard. It may sound insincere. In public or in private a thoughtful well considered positive feedback will go a long way to enhance the recipients self worth.
Giving a positive feedback also gives us a basis for working with problems if they happen to arise later. So give a lot of positive feedback when it is deserved.

A great positive feedback is instant, specific and enhances self-worth
