Broadly, it is advisable to avoid using abbreviations in your resume, as they may not convey the same meaning to everybody.
However, I feel there are specific instances where using industry acronyms will help in projecting the image of an experienced professional. In addition, it will also improve the readability of the resume. Even in such instances, it is advisable to use abbreviations prudently.
My rule of thumb would be to avoid using abbreviations unless you are certain it will not leave the recruiter confused.
