Why we fail to learn from failure.

We have all been brought up hearing proverbs similar to ‘Failure is a stepping stone to success”. In spite of hearing and observing people who have turned failure into raging success most of us are either thoroughly demoralized by our failures or continue on the same path to failure.

It is not that we do not have the faculties or the capacity to learn from them; otherwise, we would not have learned to ride a cycle or drive a car. It is just that we do not have the will to apply ourselves. We are disinclined to learn from our failures and even if we learn something new, we are mentally lazy to apply it to our future ventures. Hence, we repeat them again and fail only to blame it on fate, luck, or whatever.

Remember what Moshe Arens said, “Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently." So we should learn from our failures and determinedly apply the lessons learnt from it and become a success.
