One sure fire way to gain recognition is to actively seek opportunities to exhibit your leadership qualities. Experts suggest that whatever the opportunity, be it big or small is an opportunity for an employer to impress his superiors.
I remember one particular employee who made his name by how he conducted an inter-office carom tournament. This particular event was an annual event with active participation right from the CEO level. Unfortunately this annual event was never completed on time as it was impossible to schedule the fixtures in a time frame that suited everybody. This employer however, overcame this and managed to complete the tournament. Needless to add as he had to interact with the senior executives over scheduling the games his organizational and leadership qualities became evident to those who matter.
