Recruiting - How organisations shoot themselves in the foot

"Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

-Horace, Odes (Lat., "Seize the day, put no trust in tomorrow.")

Cubemanagement says that recruiting is all about maintaining the momentum, particularly so if you are looking to fill sales positions..Organisations dither when they should know better and loose their sense of urgency and pervaricate.

Its amazing to see companies, who are normally quick on their feet, acting like a coy bride. By failing to be consistent and purposeful in their process, they stutter as if they have lost the plot.

The solution to the malady,

“My advice to companies that are trying to hire the best, is to make sure that you proceed purposefully and swiftly through each phase without skipping any steps and always move towards finalizing the process as quickly and as efficiently as possible. If you do this you'll have the best chance of capturing the kind of talent that you are looking for to drive the growth of your business. If you don't you'll end up losing the best candidates and have to settle for B or C players in order to staff your sales team.”

Seize the moment, and to recount the old bromide, “Time and tide wait for no man.”
